Technical Service Chemist (Located in Grafton, OH)

Our client is searching for a Technical Service Chemist to join their growing team!

This person will provide sales and technical support to designated Territory Sales Managers in specified territories in order to maintain existing business, develop new business opportunities and meet or exceed revenue objectives.

Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions:

• Contributes to departmental goals and achievement of revenue and pricing objectives

• Functions as an internal technical and service liaison for Territory Sales Managers, including – but not limited to – the functions described below, to obtain new and maintain existing accounts:

o Approving waste streams and/or lab pack inventories

o Generating waste stream and service price estimates and quotations

o Calculating profitability of waste streams and services, and evaluating with Sales and Marketing associates

• Coordinates with Logistics Department to clear scheduled shipments; may include – but is not limited to:

o Manifest validation

o Shipper creation

o Shipper edit resolution, including handling instruction sign-offs

o Trans-shipment inventory management

• Maintains working knowledge of safety and regulatory compliance requirements (EPA, DOT, OSHA, etc.).

• Daily uses advance PC and business computer applications, telephone conferencing and e-mail.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:

• Four-year degree in chemistry or related field, with chemistry training. Equivalent experience in a similar position, in the environmental services industry, may be considered.

• Position requires exercise of independent judgment and ability to work with minimum supervision.

• Working knowledge of current DOT, RCRA and EPA.

• Position requires customer contact. Must possess excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills.

• Must be willing to work additional hours or off-hours as needed to meet business objectives. May be required to travel to customer sites.

• Must be highly organized and able to problem-solve to meet business objectives.

• Must be able to resolve conflicts to meet business objectives.

• Must possess strong work ethic with commitment to safety, compliance, and quality.

• Must be computer-literate (i.e. Microsoft Office) and be able to generate reports and correspondence as required.

Salary Range: $55k-$65k
