Our client, a nonprofit, is searching for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting operations. This includes but is not limited to monthly financial reports, operational metrics, and overseeing expenses/reimbursements.
Responsibilities:
· Direct and optimize all financial and accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and communicating with senior management
· Drive timely cash collection through streamlined monthly billing and focused cash management strategies
· Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
· Execute month, quarter and year-end closing activities and preparation of related financial statements for multiple entities
· Own the annual budgeting process from start to finish. Work with department leaders on individual budgets which then roll up to a consolidated, concise company budget
· Deliver performance metrics vs. the budget at all levels from executive summary down through granular level
· Establish and refine forecasting models for use in strategic business planning
· Work closely with CEO and COO to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation
· Review and update fixed asset records/system and reporting
· Assist with tax planning and compliance including federal, state, and local reporting
· Be a continuous improvement leader – research, prepare and execute Accounting Department initiatives including software systems, process, policies, personnel, etc.
· Other tasks/projects as assigned by Controller/CFO
Requirements:
· BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another business-related field
· 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
· Extensive experience in Financial Analysis, Income Tax, Design, and Implementation of Internal Controls, Management, Audit, Corporate Oversight, and Employee Benefits Administration
· Experience in lead or supervisory position, leading an accounting department
· Advanced MS Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables
· Highly motivated, analytical, big-picture thinker
· Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills
· Ability to work independently as well as with a team
· Excellent written/verbal communication
· Hands-on problem solver
· Ability to complete multiple tasks and projects within deadlines
· CPA, Master’s degree, Public Accounting tenure a plus
Salary Range: $60k-$80k
