Our company is seeking an apprentice civil structural forensic engineer to join our team. You will work under the supervision of an experienced civil structural forensic engineer that has a PE or Ph.D. to gain hands-on experience in analyzing, investigating, and providing solutions for structural failures, damages, and defects. You will also learn how to document findings, write reports, and present findings to clients and stakeholders. Projects entail bringing the science and facts in litigation disputes between two parties (one being an insurance company).
Duties and Responsibilities:
50% in field assignments 50% in office/lab work.
Accident reconstruction and modeling.
Conduct site investigations to identify and analyze the cause of structural failures, damages, and defects.
Assist in analyzing the results of investigations and testing, including materials analysis, laboratory testing, and computer simulations.
Work with experienced engineers to design solutions to repair or prevent structural failures, damages, and defects.
Assist in creating detailed reports of findings and recommendations for clients and stakeholders.
Learn to present findings to clients and stakeholders in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
Attend training sessions, seminars, and other educational opportunities to further develop skills and knowledge in the field of civil structural forensic engineering.
Requirements:
A degree or diploma in civil or structural engineering.
Eager to learn new things and naturally inquisitive.
Willingness to take and pass PE exam in the future.
Basic knowledge of structural analysis and design principles.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
