Our client is a high value, quality manufacturer of a diversified family of materials and identification items, selling in global markets with Corporate Offices in Cleveland, OH. We are seeking to fill a position in our Human Resource Department that will have primary responsibility for compliance related and general HR processes. The candidate will also be responsible for processing the weekly hourly payroll. This position will also be involved in other departmental functions as needed. The ideal candidate should have 2-3 years of Human Resource/Payroll experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. The candidate should be a self-starter and a team player, with the ability to complete assigned tasks/priorities on time and with a high degree of accuracy and be comfortable within a fast-paced organizational environment. In addition, strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to interact with both internal and external stakeholders is essential in this role. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications are required.
Responsible for Administering All Company Fringe Benefit Programs
•Interacts with benefit suppliers and/or agents in researching, analyzing and qualifying new benefit programs for company.
•Identifies and conducts programs, sponsored by health providers, promoting a healthy life style for employees and their dependents, resulting in significant premium credits to company.
•Handles open enrollment of current employees for each specific benefit on a yearly basis while verifying dependent eligibility.
•Monitors eligibility of new employees and processes their enrollment into the appropriate benefit plans, based on the job function and location.
•Reconciles and confirms accuracy of all benefit invoices in a timely manner.
•When attempts to resolve a benefit issue fails, acts as a liaison between employees, physicians, and benefit providers.
•Reviews all journal entries for submission to Accounting, regarding all fringe benefits.
•Handles other projects/responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
Maintains comprehensive personnel files
•Maintains personnel files of all compensation, benefits, and confidential records in a manner that makes that information easily accessible to supervisors and management.
•Supervises all changes to personnel database, including new hires, salary increases, promotions, terminations and benefit changes.
•Administers and tracks training of employees. Communicates with employees and their managers as to the current training needs.
Processing of hourly payrolls
•Processes and transmits the weekly hourly payroll to Company’s payroll service provider.
•Files monthly and quarterly payroll taxes and tax deposits by payroll services.
Assists and manages hiring process
•Acts as Company’s liaison for all hiring activity through personnel agencies, Monster.com, and/or Career Board.
•Maintains on-going relationships w/ several temp agencies, ensuring company will quickly see the best qualified candidates for short-term assignments,
•Expedites the hiring process by coordinating pre-employment testing and reference checking with the hiring supervisor,
•Works with the managers and supervisors to schedule new employees’ orientation.
Monitors compliance with federal employment legislation
•Verifies that the Company is in compliance with respect to EEO, FMLA, and ADA, keeping current with any changes that might occur through seminars and appropriate articles.
•Works with outside vendor to guarantee that terminated employees receive the proper notification regarding COBRA coverage and HIPPA certification.
Responsible for timely input of Affirmative Action data into supporting schedules
•Collects information and maintains records from supervisors, hiring agencies and applicants that are needed to file the yearly report.
•Updates Affirmative Action files on a monthly basis to avoid problems at the March deadline.
•Maintains all supporting schedules for annual Affirmative Action Plan.
Salary Range: $45,000 – $55,000
