CORPORATE EVENTS AND MARKETING GENERALIST
Position/Title: Corporate Events and Marketing Generalist Exempt/Non-Exempt:
Exempt Reports to: Director of Marketing and Communications
GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: The Corporate Events and Marketing Generalist serves as the primary implementer and project manages the assigned events for all of Garland Industries. They will work closely with the Director of Marketing and Communications to plan, negotiate contracts, manage projects including developing creative elements needed to execute events for the company and several of its subsidiaries.
CORE & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
QUALIFICATIONS: Possession of a bachelor’s degree in communications, hospitality management, business or a related field is required. Relevant experience, preferably 7 to 10 plus years, in a comparable field. Skills required in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat) along with proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite. Must be self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload, project deadlines and possess excellent time management skills. Extensive customer service skills, a high level of professionalism and willingness to handle all planning and administrative details of meetings and events, displaying high energy and a positive attitude at – 2 – all times. The ideal candidate must thrive in a challenging and fast paced atmosphere where prioritizing and multi-tasking are the norm. Exceptional attention to detail and first class organizational skills are mandatory. Attitude and spirit are valued and must possess a “do whatever it takes” mentality which includes working independently and cooperatively as a team member, pitching in to help colleagues wherever needed. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have the ability to travel both domestically and internationally as necessary, so the ability to travel by plane, operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid driver’s license are required. Overnight travel may be required.
