Our client is searching for a Commodity Manager. Responsible for all strategic aspects of assigned commodities and continuous development of commodity expertise through regular analysis of, spend data, market trends, supplier economics, emerging technologies, and global best practices. Responsibilities include formulation and implementation of appropriate commodity strategies, negotiation of supply agreements, and supplier relationship management. Researching new suppliers, supplier development, determining the total cost of ownership, and completion of commodity reviews.
Essential Functions:
Creates, implements, and maintains strategic sourcing strategies for assigned commodities
Understands the present and future spend profile and market trends, and performs market research, trend analysis, price structures assessments, etc. of the supply base
Stays current with the latest supply chain practices in order to support company initiatives and drive improvements in procurement practices.
Implements, and manages robust processes for tracking and reporting on the cost drivers, market trends, and supplier spend profiles
Initiates projects, solicits quotations, and analyzes proposals to evaluate, assess, select, and deselect suppliers
Develops a supply base that creates and sustains a competitive advantage, and manages the process of monitoring, measuring, and managing, the performance of suppliers.
Develops and maintains relationships with key suppliers, and resolves performance issues to minimize supply chain risk and total cost of ownership.
Plans, develops, and implements long-term supply agreements (LTA’s) and drives collaboration with stakeholders and subsidiaries to ensure negotiated agreements participation, and agreed pricing is being captured.
Partners with Engineering on new product developments and drives the development of new product through preferred suppliers, ensuring there is a clear understanding of requirements. Understands the emerging technology requirements for future products, and aligns suppliers with engineering for participation in new product design.
Supports Supply Chain Management by driving supply chain improvements in policies, procedures, processes, and practices
Maintains the highest ethical standards in compliance with the employee code of conduct and SCM policy.
Ensures appropriate supply chain visibility to facilitate informed decision-making
Qualifications and Requirements:
Salary Range: $90k-$120k
